  • Optical anatomy and physiology
  • Indications and contra-indications of contact lens fitting
  • Identify abnormal responses secondary to contact lens wear
  • Basic rigid and soft lens design
  • Fitting and follow-up care
  • Identify fluorescein contact lens patterns
  • Special lens designs and fittings
  • Review clinical fitting case examples
  • 4 hour hands-on workshop with slit-lamps and keratometers

Why attend a Contact Lens Fitting Course:

Become a Florida Board Certified Optician
Earn the required 20 hours of training for State Board of Opticianry Certification. This course fulfills the educational requirement to enable Florida opticians to fill, fit, adapt, and dispense contact lenses without supervision of the prescriber. Florida Statue 484.002(6)

Available for CE Credit
This course can be used for 15 hours of technical contact lens CE for Florida license renewal – see note below. (CE renewal credits are only earned & issued for attending the entire 20 hour course.) However, you cannot use this course for both Florida Board Certification and license renewal; the course must be for one or the other.

NCLE & JCAHPO credits are also available
Earn18 credit hours for NCLE re-certification and for 18 hours of JCAHPO credits.
